Launcher and setup 10

  • Finds your E-Sys versions The launcher lists every E-Sys installed on your PC by itself, each with its own play button.
  • Setup check on Home E-Sys, PSdZData and the ENET cable each turn green when ready, with a hint when something is missing.
  • Press play to start E-Sys opens with E-Sys MAX in its menu and toolbar. The version you started last is marked.
  • Light or dark E-Sys A switch on Home picks whether E-Sys opens in its normal light look or in the E-Sys MAX dark theme.
  • Your garage Cars you have read show on Home with a drawing of the car, the VIN, when it was last read, and a button to its backups.
  • Settings for each E-Sys Set the memory, PSdZ data folder and work folder for each E-Sys version without changing any E-Sys file.
  • Desktop shortcut per version Make a desktop shortcut that starts one E-Sys version with E-Sys MAX straight away.
  • Plain E-Sys when needed Start without E-Sys MAX opens stock E-Sys, so you can check whether a problem comes from E-Sys itself.
  • Smooth, safe start A loading screen covers the wait until E-Sys appears, and a double-click never starts the same E-Sys twice.
  • One Refresh checks everything Looks again for E-Sys versions, your licence and updates, then says what it found.

Licence, trial and updates 12

  • Free 3-day trial Every feature on one car, with no card and no account. The trial needs internet while you use it.
  • Buy in two minutes Buy by card opens esysmax.com/buy with your PC ID filled in, or order in Telegram from @EsysMaxbot.
  • Licence arrives by itself A licence you buy or get in Telegram is picked up by the launcher: nothing to copy or paste.
  • Every plan has every feature Payments are one-time and nothing renews by itself. Plans differ only in how long they last.
  • Works offline for 14 days A paid licence keeps working without internet for up to two weeks after its last online check.
  • Survives a Windows reinstall The licence is tied to the motherboard, so a new Windows, a new SSD or more RAM keep it.
  • Lifetime moves once A lifetime licence can move to a new PC one time, from the launcher's About page.
  • Clear licence card Shows the plan, days left, end date and a time bar. Renewing adds time without losing any days.
  • Signed one-click updates New versions install with one click, and a changed or broken download is refused.
  • Updates found by themselves The launcher checks when it opens, every 3 hours and when the PC comes online, and shows what is new first.
  • Beta updates Settings, Get beta updates gives you new versions a little earlier. Anyone can turn it on or off.
  • News in the launcher Short news from us shows once at the bottom right, with a button to our Telegram channel.

Setting names and the FDL-Editor 10

  • Every setting has a name Settings show BMW's name, Reserved (not used), what BMW's coding rules use them for, or their block and number. Never just a dot.
  • English readings BMW's German setting names get an English reading underneath, now including many G-series settings.
  • What each setting does Each setting gets a one-line explanation and a topic such as Lights or Locking and doors. Features only hides technical values.
  • E-Sys MAX panel in the FDL-Editor Search and filter settings, pick a value from a list, reset to default, undo, or jump to the setting in the tree.
  • Setting names offline Paid licences keep every module's names sealed on the PC, so they work at the car without Wi-Fi, even on a new car.
  • New names arrive by themselves E-Sys MAX checks for new setting names by itself and downloads only what changed, within 3 days.
  • Says why names are missing When names cannot load, the panel says why: no internet, licence not accepted, or a connection problem.
  • Name a setting yourself Give any setting your own name. If you agree when asked, it is shared so everybody gets it.
  • Import older names Read setting names once from an older PSdZData that still has them.
  • Help improve names Send names we do not have yet. You see the file first, and it never holds VINs or coding values.

One-click changes and cheat sheets 8

  • What can I code? A checklist of ready-made changes that fit the open module and your car, showing what is on and off now.
  • One-click changes Tyre temperatures, xDrive status, welcome screen, lock sound, digital speed, mirror folding and more, shown only when the module has the setting.
  • All or nothing, one Undo E-Sys checks each value. A change is applied completely or not at all, and one Undo puts it back.
  • Cheat sheets window Every known change for your car's modules in one table, with filters, a byte-by-byte view, Copy and Export CSV.
  • Community cheat sheets by themselves Free community cheat sheets download into your folder by themselves. Nothing to press.
  • Every cheat in English Community descriptions written in French, Korean or Chinese show in English.
  • Save and code Saves the open coding file and codes that one module after a single question listing the changes, the car and the battery.
  • Re-apply my coding After a flash, an I-step update or a dealer visit, turns your earlier settings into ready-made changes for the newer coding.

Coding several changes 2

  • Code several changes Tick ready-made changes across any modules, answer one question, and E-Sys codes them module by module.
  • Stops safely An error stops the remaining modules. If you say No, every coding file E-Sys MAX saved is put back.

Backups and coding history 9

  • Full backup in one click Saves FA, FP, SVT, every module's coding, I-steps, fault memory, FSCs and VIN in one folder and zip. It only reads the car.
  • Your backup folder Choose where full backups go, and open the folder from the E-Sys MAX menu.
  • Back up open files only Saves what E-Sys has open right now, without reading the car.
  • Automatic copies Keeps a copy of every FA, SVT and coding file E-Sys reads or saves, sorted by car and by day.
  • Coding history Every version of each module's coding, what changed by setting name, and an older version opened to code it back.
  • Compare any two codings Two coding files compared setting by setting, also across CAFD versions after a flash.
  • Car report (PDF) One PDF with model, options in English, modules, I-step, coding changes and the last fault scan, for you or a customer.
  • Readable E-Sys reports Report titles show the error count, and saving suggests a name with chassis, VIN and time. A copy is kept anyway.
  • Clear save names E-Sys save dialogs suggest file names with the car's chassis and VIN.

Fault memory 9

  • Fault scan of every module Reads all fault memories in one pass and shows which modules have faults, how many, and how long it took.
  • BMW fault texts in English BMW's own fault codes are shown with their meaning in English.
  • Plain-English explanations For each fault: what it means, what the driver may notice, how serious it is, likely causes and what to check.
  • What does a code mean? Looks up more than 1,100 OBD-II codes you got from a code reader or a garage.
  • Clear faults when you choose Clear one module or all of them, only after you confirm, with each step shown and a new scan after.
  • Scan while E-Sys is connected With the SVT open, scanning and clearing go through E-Sys's own connection, even on single-connection F-series gateways.
  • Handles busy gateways Tries again for about 15 seconds, says what to do, and keeps the modules already read if a scan is cut off.
  • Saved fault lists Scans are saved with the car. Copy a report or reopen earlier lists any time.
  • Module info and restart Shows a module's serial, part numbers, supplier and dates. A restart asks first. Also on the SVT right-click menu.

Vehicle order (FA) and option codes 10

  • Vehicle order in English The FA tree names more than 5,600 option codes, for example 5AC High-beam assistant, and describes the type key.
  • Type and codes tab Every option, HO-Wort and E-Wort with its name and a search box. Tick to add a code, untick to remove it.
  • Vehicle order check Checks the open FA against BMW's data on your PC. Mistakes show in red, codes to check in amber.
  • FA helper Pick a type key from a described list, a build date and codes, then apply them to the open FA.
  • English or German code names Option names follow the Windows language and can be switched in the FA-Editor.
  • Name a code yourself Fix or add a code's name, or import BMW's own texts from an older PSdZData.
  • Vehicle profile names The FP tree reads [0] Drive and [308] RWD instead of bare numbers.
  • Write vehicle order to the car Uses E-Sys's own Write FA FP, only when the VINs match and you answer Yes. No is the default.
  • Write confirmation you cannot miss E-Sys's small FA and FP written message also shows as a notice at the top right.
  • Activate after reading An optional setting activates the vehicle order as soon as it is read, which saves a click before coding.

SVT, flashing and TAL 7

  • Module names in the SVT Every module and part line says what it is, such as DKOMBI4, Digital instrument cluster.
  • CAFD lines stand out Every CAFD line in the SVT is shown on a coloured band with its ID in bold.
  • SVT toolbox Every module in one table, with an actual-versus-target comparison that says what the TAL will do to each.
  • Delete several modules at once Select SVT lines with Ctrl or Shift and delete them together, on every E-Sys version.
  • Secure-coding warning Lists modules that need BMW's backend signing, and asks before you code one of them.
  • Flash assistant Flash one module or the whole car step by step. It checks the charger, backup and job, but never presses Start for you.
  • Exclude modules from the TAL Tick modules E-Sys must leave alone in the next TAL. Your choice is kept per car.

Connection and battery 9

  • Battery badge Battery voltage in E-Sys's top-right corner, in green, amber or red. Click it to read now.
  • Battery while E-Sys is connected Keeps showing the voltage while E-Sys is connected, also on an F10 or through an ICOM.
  • Battery in the coding question Before coding you see the voltage and how old the reading is, with a warning to connect a charger.
  • Connected notice A short notice shows the VIN, chassis and address when E-Sys connects, and tells you when the connection drops.
  • Readable Open Connection Car rows show the chassis code, and the window opens at full size.
  • Car connection check Tests the cable adapter, whether the car answers, the ICOM and the firewall, finds a stuck E-Sys, then says what to change.
  • ICOM support Battery reading, fault scan and full backup also work through an ICOM, using the address set in E-Sys (tested with simulated hardware).
  • Newer DoIP cars Fault scan, module info and battery reading also work on cars that answer only DoIP (tested with simulated hardware).
  • Finds the car on the cable VPN and virtual network adapters are ignored, so a remote car is never mistaken for yours.

Look and comfort 8

  • Dark theme for E-Sys One dark look for all of E-Sys, including its embedded pages and the Windows title bar.
  • Named toolbar buttons FA helper, SVT toolbox, Cheat sheets, Fault scan and Backup buttons with names, sharp at any display scaling.
  • Fits small laptop screens All E-Sys MAX windows fit laptop screens, and the changes list gets more compact when space is short.
  • Tidy tooltips Long tooltips wrap, scrolling hides them, and setting positions read position 285 instead of byte and bit.
  • Ctrl+S and Ctrl+W Save and close the file in any E-Sys editor from the keyboard.
  • E-Sys always on screen E-Sys is brought back on screen if it would open where you cannot see it, for example after unplugging a monitor.
  • No cut-off buttons Buttons on E-Sys's Coding and TAL pages are no longer cut off at the right edge.
  • Fewer repeat clicks E-Sys's recurring data-protection notice is acknowledged for you, and your last calculation strategy is picked again.

Safety 4

  • Nothing written without your Yes Every write to the car waits for your Yes, and No is always the default.
  • Same-car checks Coding files and vehicle orders go only to the car whose VIN they belong to.
  • Never over a busy E-Sys Nothing is written or cleared while E-Sys is coding, flashing or busy. Battery reads wait for its jobs.
  • Values checked by E-Sys Changes go through E-Sys's own editor, so E-Sys checks every value as if you typed it.

Privacy and security 6

  • No account No sign-up and no password. The licence is tied to your PC.
  • Your coding stays on your PC Vehicle orders, coding files, backups, fault lists and VINs are never uploaded.
  • Opt-in usage counts Anonymous feature counts only if you turn them on. Never VINs, coding or personal data.
  • Problem reports only on Send You see the report and choose whether to send it.
  • Trial keeps no VIN The trial remembers its car only as a one-way code, never the VIN itself.
  • Tamper-checked add-on E-Sys MAX checks its own files and will not run if they were changed or copied to another PC.

Help and support 6

  • First steps A short welcome shows your first change in 3 steps, with a connection check and Telegram help.
  • Problem report in one click From the launcher or the E-Sys MAX menu, logs go into one zip. Add a few words, press Send, get a reference number.
  • Help after a crash If E-Sys closes with a Java error, the launcher comes back and offers a problem report.
  • Real support Write to @EsysMaxbot in Telegram with your PC ID ready, or use Write to us and get an e-mail answer.
  • Telegram news channel Every update and all our news appear first on @esysmax, linked from the launcher.
  • Quick Start Guide A step-by-step guide from install to first change, online and as a PDF.
