From download to your first coding change

1. What you need

• A Windows 10 or 11 PC (64-bit) with internet at least once a week.
• BMW E-Sys with PSdZData, installed on that PC (not included with E-Sys MAX).
• An ENET cable to the car, and a battery charger connected to the car while you code.

2. Install

1. Download the installer from esysmax.com/download and run it. The installer shows the Terms; accept them to continue.
2. Open E-Sys MAX from the Start menu. The first time, read the short "Terms and safety" summary and accept it.
3. The launcher lists the E-Sys versions it found on your PC.

3. Try it free for 3 days

1. In the launcher open Help > Enter licence and press Start the free 3-day trial. No card needed.
2. The launcher shows an orange FREE TRIAL badge with the days left.
3. The trial works on one car: the first car you connect becomes the trial car.

4. Buy a licence (2 minutes)

1. In the launcher open Help > Enter licence and press Buy by card. Your browser opens esysmax.com/buy with your PC ID already filled in.
2. Choose 1 year ($59) or Lifetime ($99), tick the three boxes and press Pay by card. Payment is handled securely by Stripe.
3. Right after paying, the page shows your licence. Press Copy licence.
4. Back in the launcher: Help > Enter licence, paste it, press Activate. Done.

Prefer Telegram? Press Get a licence on Telegram instead: @EsysMaxbot takes your order there. A licence you get in Telegram arrives by itself: just restart E-Sys MAX or press Refresh (top right). Nothing to copy.

5. Your first session

1. Connect the charger and the ENET cable. Press play on your E-Sys version in the launcher: E-Sys opens with E-Sys MAX inside.
2. Connect to the car in E-Sys, then make a full backup first: E-Sys MAX > Full backup of the car.
3. Read the coding data and open a module in the FDL-Editor. The E-Sys MAX panel shows every setting in English and What can I code? lists ready-made changes for your car.
4. Check every change before you code it. When in doubt, don't.

6. Useful tools

• Search the car: find any setting in every module by name.
• Coding history: see exactly what changed, and open an older version to put it back.
• Fault scan: read and clear the fault memory of every module.
• Car report (PDF): model, options, modules, changes and faults in one document.

7. Your licence

• One licence works on one PC. A Windows reinstall, new SSD or more RAM keep it.
• E-Sys MAX checks the licence online at least every 7 days and works offline in between.
• New laptop? In the launcher on the new PC: Help > Enter licence > Get a licence on Telegram > Move my licence to this PC.
• Lost your licence text after a reinstall? Use esysmax.com/licence with your order e-mail and PC ID.

8. Safety and legal

Vehicle coding is at your own risk: it can damage control units, change safety systems and make a car illegal to drive. Back up first, keep a charger connected, and only code changes that are legal where the car is used. E-Sys MAX is not affiliated with BMW AG.
