Vehicle Coding Disclaimer

Version 2026-10-02. Please read this before you code any vehicle.

E-Sys MAX is a tool for experienced users. You use it entirely at your own risk. E-Sys MAX helps you read and understand coding; it does not decide what is safe, legal or right for a vehicle. You do.

The risks

  • Coding can damage control units, leave a vehicle with faults or unable to start, or require a dealer to repair it.
  • Coding can switch off, change or weaken safety, driver assistance, lighting, warning, emission and other systems.
  • A coded vehicle may become unroadworthy, fail inspection, or be illegal to drive on public roads where you are.
  • Coding may affect the manufacturer's warranty, insurance cover, leasing contracts and resale value.
  • Setting names, descriptions, ready-made changes ("cheats"), reports and fault information can be incomplete or wrong, and can differ between models, versions and countries.

What you must do

  • Make a full backup before you change anything, and keep it.
  • Keep a suitable battery charger connected; never code with a weak battery.
  • Never code a vehicle while it is being driven or is not safely parked.
  • Check every change yourself before writing it; when in doubt, do not write it.
  • Make sure every change is legal where the vehicle is registered and used.
  • Code only vehicles you own or have the owner's permission to code, and tell the owner what you changed.

No liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KDR Coding is not liable for any damage to vehicles, control units, parts, computers or data, for any injury, fine, failed inspection, lost warranty or other loss resulting from coding or from relying on information shown by E-Sys MAX. Our full warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability are in the Terms.
