BMW F10 coding list
The changes F10, F11 and F07 owners code most, which module each one is in, and what to check before you code.
Before you start
- F-series is easy to code. Nearly every setting has a name in BMW's data, and secure coding (NCD 2.0) does not apply.
- Your software level still matters. Use PSdZData at least as new as your car's I-step (Expert Mode > VCM > Integration I-Steps).
- Back up first. Make a full backup of the car before the first change, and keep the battery on a charger while you code.
- Module names vary. The table shows the module most F10s use. On the F10 the lights and mirrors are in the FRM (footwell module), and the head unit is CIC (HU_CIC) on early cars or NBT (HU_NBT) on later ones.

How to code these with E-Sys
- Connect, then in Expert Mode > Coding: Read the vehicle order, Activate FA, and Read SVT.
- Select the module's CAFD and press Read Coding Data.
- Open the CAFD, right-click the .ncd file under it and choose Edit FDL.
- Find the setting, change its value and save. Then select the CAFD and press Code.
In plain E-Sys F10 settings show German short names like KOMBI or FEM keywords. E-Sys MAX shows every setting in English, and its What can I code? list shows the ready-made changes that fit your car, applied with one click in the FDL-Editor. Old community cheat sheets work too: see E-Sys cheat sheets.
Questions
Does this list work for the F11 Touring, F07 GT and F06/F12/F13 6 Series?
Mostly yes: they share the same modules. The M5 (F10 M) has extra M settings, and the head unit depends on the build year.
My setting has a different name. Why?
BMW renames and moves settings between software levels. Search the module for the function instead of the exact name, or let E-Sys MAX find it for your car.
Can coding damage the car?
Coding changes settings, not software, and a module can be coded back. Back up first, keep a charger connected, and change one module at a time.
